One doozy of a project
What a long, strange trip it’s been to bring this book to fruition…
This project began in 2008 with a different title (The Mini Book of Logos) but then the economy tanked and the publisher shelved the project for (insert deep sigh here) 8 months. When we finally brought it back to life, we improved the heck out of it.
First, we changed the title to Loglicious, which – as we noted in an earlier post – is just darn fun to say out loud. Try it.
Second, we partnered with author Peleg Top, who re-designed the cover and was instrumental in gathering 13 of the top names in the design world to judge the thousands of submissions we received.
Production was moving along quite well until an electrical fire at the Crescent Hill Books office in April brought everything to a complete stop for a week or two. Thankfully, no one was hurt. In fact, our upstairs office wasn’t damaged much, but other parts of our building (actually a historic home built in the 1880s) were hit hard. As a result, we had to find new digs while they rebuild.
This slowed down the judging process for this book and many entrants were left wondering if their entry was selected for publication. (BTW, if you submitted work for this book, you may login to your account at www.CrescentHillBooks.com/submit and click on “Previous Submissions” to check the status.)
But now we’re moving ahead and printing should begin in late May. The book will be in stores in Fall 2010.
Here’s a sneak peek at some sample pages. Enjoy!
